About the numbers above

MOTS-c is a 16 amino acid peptide encoded in mitochondrial DNA, studied for its effects on metabolism and exercise capacity. It is not an approved medicine and is sold for research use.

Reported protocols are unusual for a peptide: whole milligram doses, 5 to 10 mg, two or three times a week, sometimes as a short daily course. A 10 mg vial with 2 mL of water is 5 mg/mL, so 5 mg is 1 mL, a full U-100 syringe. If you are dosing 10 mg from a 10 mg vial, that is the entire vial, and how much water you add only changes how many injections it takes to get it in. How long it stays in you

Not well characterised in humans. This site only draws a decay curve where a half-life is actually documented in humans, so there is none here. Treat any precise figure you see elsewhere for MOTS-c with suspicion.

Common questions

How many units is 5 mg of MOTS-c?
It depends entirely on how much water you added. In a 10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL, the concentration is 5 mg/mL, so 5 mg is 1 mL, which is 100 units on a U-100 insulin syringe. In the same vial with 1 mL of water it is 50 units, and with 3 mL it is 150 units.
How much bacteriostatic water for a 10 mg MOTS-c vial?
2 mL is the usual choice. It gives 5 mg/mL, which puts the commonly reported range of 2.5 mg to 10 mg between roughly 50 and 200 units. Aim for a draw between about 10 and 50 units, where the barrel is easiest to read, and add or remove water to get there.
How many doses are in a 10 mg vial?
Divide 10 by your dose. At 5 mg that is 2 doses, which at three times a week is 5 days.
How many units is 5 mg of MOTS-c?
In a 10 mg vial with 2 mL of water, 100 units, a full 1 mL syringe. In a 10 mg vial with 1 mL of water, 50 units.
